Your Photographer

Hi there, my name is Scott, and I'm the main photographer at The Edge Photography.co.uk ltd, and I would like to welcome you to my site.

Since I left college in 1998, I have been involved in photography. My first job was working for a professional photo lab. There I learnt all about all the processing and printing of pictures, it was there I started to 'develop' a passion for photography.

After a year or so, I started to ask the photographers who came into the lab if I could assist them and learn the ropes, a few of them said yes, and the journey began.

In 2002, I decided to put my skills as a photographer to the test, I applied to work as an on-board photographer with Celebrity Cruises, and in January 2003, I boarded 'Infinity' for a year that changed my life. I sailed the seas for nine months cruising to the Caribbean, Central America, transiting the Panama Canal, Hawaii and Alaska, while learning my trade as a 'pho-tog', skills which I still us today.

Once setting foot back in the UK, I knew that life for me was behind the lens, I worked back at the lab until a local wedding photographer gave me the chance to work with him as well as improve my skills as a photographer. For this I thank him, without that chance, I wouldn't be running my own business today.

In December 2009, I was awarded Licentiate of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (LSWPP), professional recognition which I had been working towards for nearly a year, and something which I am very proud to have. It proves that I am always striving to give each couple the very best wedding images. I hope in 2010, I can push on from this and work towards submitting image to achieve Associate.

If you know me, you know I'm a bag of fun and always up for a laugh, something which I like to include in my photography. I love to travel, and if you ask nicely, I'll tell you all about my cage dive with Great White Sharks in South Africa, or my time in Japan!
